Origine 1348 Réserve, AOC Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise, Blanc Liquoreux 2015

The wine
While the origins of Muscat Petits Grains grapes in the heart of the Dentelles de Montmirail date back to antiquity, it was in 1348 that Beaumes de Venise became part of the Comtat Venaissin, home of the Popes for nearly 2 centuries. Pope Clément VI made Muscat his official aperitif, enjoying it chilled in spring water.
This Muscat is grown on sand, marl, and clay-limestone soil, which accounts for its strong personality.
This Muscat is made traditionally, with special care and attention paid during ageing.
This cuvée, aged during 5 years in oak barrels
