Domainede la Soleiade used to have a water well, which was supplying the sunny "Hautes Garrigues" area, near the village of Sarrians. In 1850, the vineyard was covering forty hectares. After phylloxera completely destroyed the vines, the estate was abandoned for many years. In 1941, Mr. Geay decided to renovate the main building and replant vines with determination and passion.
Terroir
The old Grenache vines flourish in a clayey and limestone soil with river stones.
Vinification
Hand harvest and sorting of the grapes. Fermentation in stainless steel vats at carefully controlled temperatures to lock in fresh, fruity aromas.

Syrah : 35%

Characteristic aromas of violets, red & black fruits with spicy overtones. Cherry flavours on the palate, with a hint of liquorice.

This wine is a perfect pairing to free range chicken with tarragon, mature cheeses, or a rich chocolate cake.
