Story

The wine
Valérie Chaume-Arnaud always wanted to be a winegrower. In 1987, she settled on the estate of her parents, who were practicing mixed farming at the time. She took charge of 5 hectares and her husband, still employed at the time, actively supported her. In 1999, Valérie's parents retired, thus propelling their daughter to the head of a 38 hectare estate in Vinsobres.
Location
A Mediterranean climate: Summers with hot days and cool nights (20°). Winters are sometimes very harsh and have a great impact on the vintages of the domain.
Terroir
The Terroir of Vinsobres is characterized by a clay-limestone soil with rolled pebbles and a superb southern exposure on the "Quartier des Côtes" and "Rouanne", at an altitude of 250-450m.
In the vineyard
Average age of the vines: 40 years.
Yield : 35hl/ha
Vinification
The vines are cultivated with products of natural origin. This organic process allows us to offer a natural, healthy wine, respecting the quality of the fruit. The grapes are harvested at full maturity and then vinified by a subtle mix of traditional and modern techniques. Native yeasts without addition of SO2, fermentation during 3 to 4 weeks. The wine is made from organically grown grapes - certified by Qualité France SAS FR-BIO-10V and Biodynamic certified by Demeter France.
Ageing
Aged in concrete tanks for 12 to 18 months.

Mourvèdre : 10%

Advice

Tasting notes
Superb vintage comparable to 2012, with a very nice freshness, a beautiful balance of red fruit notes accompanied by spicy notes and a touch of black pepper.
Food and wine pairings
This local wine will be perfect with game in sauce, a platter of cold meats or mature cheeses. To be tasted now. It will improve within 3-4 years.
