The vintage
2023 was a year full of contrasts: warm temperatures at the end of December and beginning of January raised concerns about early budding; a return to normalcy continued until February with relatively cool weather; a persistent drought accompanied by a strong Mistral wind, followed by regular rainfall until the end of June. Thanks to constant vigilance in the vineyards, the berries were healthy and well-ripened when harvest started, promising one of the finest vintages of the past decade.
Terroir
Our parcel selection comes from a micro-terroir on the "Plateau des Garrigues", at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail mountains, at 150m high. On this rich and friable clay soil, the vines - 50 years old on average - are deeply rooted and benefit from water supply and minerals throughout the year.
Winemaking
Traditional vinification with long vating (25 days) and fermentation under controlled temperatures (28/30°C) with pumping over twice a day to develop the aromas. 30% of the wine is aged in oak barrels (1 & 2 wines) for 12 months.

Reviews

90-92/100
"It reveals a deep ruby/purple hue to go with a beautiful nose of black raspberries, crushed stone, spring flowers, and pepper. It's medium to full-bodied, has a pure, elegant mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a solid spine of acidity that keeps it light on its feet."
