Vignoble Abeille, AOC Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Blanc, 2019

The wine
It was in the 14th century that the Popes had their residence built in Châteauneuf, far from the bustle of the Avignon court. Pope John XXII had the fortress built, of which only the ruins remain today. Fascinated by the wine of Châteauneuf, the Pope developed the vineyard and ensured its renown. A true ode to the simple pleasures of life, the happiness of this world shows all the richness of the Appellation Châteauneuf du Pape.
The appellation area is located on the left bank of the Rhône, between Orange and Avignon. The terroir is characterized by large rolled pebbles which store the heat of the generous sun of Provence during the day and release it at night. The depth of the pebbles is 2 meters; below, there is a clay bank where the roots of the vine draw their water needs: an exceptional terroir.
The must is put in the clean must before fermentation by cold settling, fermentation in stainless steel tanks for 3 to 4 weeks at low temperature - maximum 15 to 16°. No malolactic fermentation.
