The wine
Valérie Chaume-Arnaud has always wanted to be a winegrower. Her mother advised against it and wanted a more modern job for her, but she does as she pleases. She moved to her parents' estate in 1987, who then practiced polyculture. She takes charge of 5 hectares and her husband, still an employee at the time, actively supports her. In 1999, Valérie's parents retired, propelling their daughter to the head of a 38 hectare estate in Vinsobres.
Facing North East/South West at elevations ranging from 200 to 500 m above sea level, the vineyard sites for Vinsobres are characterised by a wide array of clay-limestone and stony soil types. Their broad-ranging potential and natural attributes imbue these wines with great complexity.
The vines are grown using naturally-derived products. Organic techniques enable us to provide natural, healthy wines, preserving the quality of the fruit. The grapes are harvested at peak ripeness and then fermented using a subtle combination of traditional and modern techniques.
The 3-week vatting period is followed by maturation in concrete tanks.

Tasting notes
This intensely coloured wine unfurls a rich, aromatic nose showing notes of red fruits, blackcurrants and spices. The tannins are noble and the palate is powerful, refined and elegant. Shows great balance.
Food pairings
This country wine is the perfect match for game in a sauce, a platter of cold meats or alternatively for mature cheeses. Showing well from now on and will improve over 3-4 years.
