The vintage
2020 is an early vintage with impressive ripeness and exceptionally healthy grapes. After the substantial fall rains, the soil's water reserves were fully recharged. The dry summer led to a great concentration in the berries, and the light early September showers secured a harvest at peak maturity.
Terroir
Located north-east of the town of Beaumes de Venise at 350m high, the terroir of Bel Air is made of marl, clay and rocks (100-140M years old), with a typical white color.
Vinification
Hand harvest at optimum maturity. Grenache grapes are destemmed, pressed and fermented at controlled temperature for a maceration of 18 days.

Reviews

89-91/100
"The 2018 Beaumes de Venise Bel Air is a tank-aged blend that comes from a selection of south-facing vineyards planted on white clays. Plum, peach and black olive notes mark the nose, while the palate is full-bodied and velvety in texture."
