The vintage
A very rainy spring followed by a hot summer. Good rains in August and a beautiful "indian summer" during the harvest. 2018 will certainly account for a great vintage.
Location
Average age of the vines : 40 years - Altitude : 300 meters.
Terroir
Parcels are located in the "Trias" sector (230M years old). The soils are made of gypsum, clay and "cargneules" that give to the land this typical red ochre colour. They also allow a regular supply of water to the vines.
In the vineyard
Harvest between the 19th and 26st Sept.
Winemaking
Hand harvest at optimum maturity. Grapes are detemmed, crushed, put into vat, and vinified at controlled temperatures. Regular rack and return, as well as regular aeration of the must during fermentation to develop smooth and silky tannins.
Ageing
50% of the blend ins aged in 1/2-muids.
