Presentation

Presentation
Grenache and Syrah reveal an impressive aromatic complexity between red fruits, cocoa and liquorice as well as concentrated tannins.
The vintage
After a mild winter, spring was rather dry. Summer brought some welcome rain showers within periods of hot temperatures. Due to the high temperatures end of August/beginning of September, harvest took place mainly during the coolest hours of the day to preserve the aromatic potential of the grapes. The sanitary state was very good.
Terroir
Located north of the village of Lafare, the "La Beaume" terroir (250m high) consists primarily of oxfordian black marl dating from the Upper Jurassic period (140-150 million years B.C.). C
Winemaking

Reviews

93-94/100
"This is very chewy with lots of rich fruit, yet it’s framed by ripe tannins. Solid red."
91/100
"Aromas of black- and blueberries, raspberries, white tea, fresh violets, gardenia and oak spice immediately jump out of the glass. A smoky palate of mulled blackberry and black plum yields to a granite finish, with tannins that coat and dry the tongue. "
91/100
"Bel assemblage grenache et syrah issu de parcelles situées au nord du village de Lafare. Belle maturité de fruit, juste, sans lourdeur, solidement constitué en bouche. On le garde quelques années en cave."
91/100
"A brawny, heady version, with smoldering mesquite wafting through a well of black fruit and flavors of graphite and earth. Full-bodied and slightly grippy, with tannins building in power. Menthol, black licorice and tobacco notes merge on the densely packed finish."
