Domaine Carobelle, AOP Côtes du Rhône, Rouge, 2017

Presentation

The wine
This estate is located in the foothills of the Dentelles de Montmirail in the heart of southern France, between 300 and 500 metres in altitude.Domaine de Carobelle has been producing pure, natural, elegant wines for several generations. Grown organically, with passion and rigour by Jean Paul Grangeon, the old Grenache and Syrah vines produce a balanced, rich, and complex wine with intense black fruit and spicy flavours.
Terroir
Backing onto the Dentelles de Montmirail, this estate produces fine Côtes du Rhône on sandy soil.
Vinification
The vines are treated exclusively with natural plant protection products. This organic approach results in tasty grapes that are in excellent condition. These are tasted every day as vintage time nears to appraise their readiness, and picked when perfectly ripe to reflect their terroir. The wines are evaluated daily by our oenologist during fermentation. Pumping over and temperature are adjusted accordingly.
Maturing
This wine is aged on the lees until bottling to retain its fresh fruity aromas and to soften the tannin.

Tasting advices

Tasting notes
Beautiful aromas of red berry and dark berry fruits, blended with hints of plum, spices and liquorice. The finish has a roundness and fullness over some fine tannins, which is drawn out by a combination of liquorice and prune.
Food pairing
It will be perfect accompanied by leg of lamb with garlic cream, vegetables risotto or a fillet of beef with cep sauce.
