Domaine du Grand Prieur, AOP Vacqueyras, Rouge, 2018

Presentation

The wine
Domaine du Grand Prieur is one of the oldest estates in Cru Vacqueyras. This beautiful property dates back to the year 980. Located in the Hautes Garrigues in Sarrians, it has a long, rich history. Guillaume the 1st, Count of Provence and Lord Prior of Sarrians, created the vineyard. For over 10 centuries, the estate had many ups and downs, mirroring the history of France. Today, Domaine du Grand Prieur continues to produce wine thanks to the Gras family, who acquired the property in 1880. Today, Léo Gras and his two sons look after the vines in the long family tradition.
Terroir
This Vacqueyras owns the richness in a pebbly and clayey soil.
Vinification
For over a century, our philosophy has been to let our magnificent terroir express its full potential. This approach determines everything we do in the vineyards and winery: minimal use of fertilizer, picking the grapes at full ripeness, and a combination of traditional and modern winemaking methods.
Varietals
